Every great company begins with a vision, and for Hawk Media, that vision started in a small corner of Punjab, India, back in 2011. What began as a one-man freelancing journey has now become an international digital powerhouse, operating across New Zealand, Australia, and Canada.
The Beginning
The story starts with Baaj, the founder of Hawk Media. In 2011, he entered the world of digital marketing through platforms like Freelancer and oDesk (now Upwork). His very first breakthrough came when he secured a project with the global luxury brand Canada Goose. This was the spark that lit the path forward.
At that time, the company was known as Staniel Web, focused mainly on SEO services. As the demand for digital marketing grew, so did Baaj’s ambitions. By 2015, the company rebranded to Hawk Media, symbolizing vision, precision, and growth. Along with SEO, new services like Web Design, Social Media Marketing (SMM), and Branding were added.
Hawk Media soon took flight beyond India, moving operations to Auckland, New Zealand, in 2015. The next chapter unfolded in 2016, when the company began working with Australian businesses, starting in Brisbane. By 2018, Hawk Media had firmly established its presence in both New Zealand and Australia, handling multiple large-scale projects across industries.
The expansion didn’t stop there. In 2019, Hawk Media entered the Canadian market, starting from Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The company quickly became a trusted partner for businesses across the province. By 2022, Hawk Media had spread its wings wider into Alberta, Ontario, and British Columbia, capitalizing on the real estate boom of 2022–2023 with specialized marketing solutions.
Now, in 2025, Hawk Media proudly operates across three countries – New Zealand, Australia, and Canada. What began as a freelancing journey has grown into a full-service digital agency trusted by firms across industries.
